Today we had visitors. We were watching a bit of television while dinner was cooking, when I heard people out on the dock in the darkness. I was quite startled when someone stepped right over onto the swim platform. Yikes! What the heck? I smacked Todd on the thigh with shock, “there’s someone on the boat!” Then he started to laugh, as he was in on it. Lo and behold, it was our son Jeff and his family, Caitlin, Kai and Ella, masked up and delivering treats for my upcoming birthday. A visit from children and grandchildren! Fantastic! If only I’d thought to get a photo. (sheesh)

Mission Impossible: Save the Dryer (‘cuz it fits the spot in the woodwork)

The celebration was short-lived, however, as we ended up having to do it twice. The folks at the appliance repair shop were very nice, and (almost) as determined as we were to get it working. Good news: there was no damage to the teak on any of the trips – two out and two in. Better news: after clearing the vent line in a great POOF of lint all over Todd (which was funny, even though I had to clean the entire lower hallway), the dryer now works great.
